Hello! I would like to welcome you to Honors Government at Bear Creek High School. My name is Mr. Martinez and I will be using this blog/website to keep you updated and informed in my class. Please make sure to check back often (at least once a week) to make sure you have a grasp of what is going on in class and to find any extra handouts.
This week, we will begin class by introducing class expectations and the general miscellany that accompany a new school year. After that is done, we will dive right into the course by looking at the difference between power and authority by examining your thoughts on The Lord of the Flies and talking about your essays. We will do a bit of writing and hopefully begin to look at the types of governments that exist as well.
Below you will find the homework for this week. This is where you should always look for homework for subsequent weeks. Unless otherwise noted (like with projects), general homework assignments are always assigned one a Monday and due the following Monday (we will have regular quizzes just to keep you on your toes).
